Operational Transformation
I help companies find constraints, trapped capacity and opportunities across people, process, AI and technology, often creating more capacity, better economics and growth without relying solely on increasing sales.
- Leaders who need more out of the organization they already have
- Companies about to scale, enter a market or build a product
- PE operating partners and boards weighing a major investment

SEE THE SYSTEM → FIND THE CONSTRAINT → MAKE THE RIGHT DECISION → REDESIGN → EXECUTE
Most engagements stall because someone applied a complicated-system solution to a complex-system problem. They mapped the gears. The gears weren’t the issue.
What I find
- Constraints. What is preventing the organization from producing the result it needs.
- Trapped capacity. Value already paid for and not being captured.
- Opportunities. New products, capabilities, applications of technology, operating models and sources of economic value.
What should be built, bought, changed or left alone?
People and hiring
Who you hire, how you hire and who stays are part of the operating model. The wrong hire, an empty seat or a top performer who leaves is trapped capacity.
I help organizations find, hire and keep top talent, using techniques drawn from the military, industry and psychology, and raise their quality of hire and first-year retention.
Inside or outside the organization
From the outside
An independent diagnostic and a clear decision on what should change.
Alongside your team
A senior operator embedded for the decisions that matter, for as long as they matter.
In the seat
Transformation leadership inside the organization, as a fractional or interim Chief Transformation Officer or equivalent.
FAQ
What is operational transformation?
Getting materially more out of the people, process and technology you already have, by finding what is constraining them and changing it.
How is this different from a management consultant?
I don’t start with a predetermined solution. Sometimes the answer is to build, buy, change or leave it alone. And the work doesn’t end at a strategy deck: I take it through execution.
Do we need to hire more people?
Not necessarily. Most organizations have more capacity than they’re capturing. When hiring is the answer, the goal is the right hire, measured by quality of hire and retention.
Do you work as a fractional Chief Transformation Officer?
Yes, and also as an outside advisor or an embedded operator. The engagement fits the situation, not the other way around.
How long does it take?
The Intervention delivers a full diagnostic in five to seven business days. From there, scope depends on what we find.
